Abstract
The prominent hill Vladar has been recognized for centuries for its extensive, multivallate fortifications. Despite this early knowledge, intensive archaeological research of this site started relatively recently.
A detailed plan of the whole hillfort was accomplished and several trenches excavated across fortification lines and on the top plateau of the hillfort Alongside numerous archaeological objects, it was also possible to recover exceptionally rich palaeoenvironmental record, illuminating the human-nature relationships in the last 2400 years.
