The paper interpret the results of the questionnaire survey realized in co-operation with the correspondents of the Czech Ethnological Society. The aim of the research was to give answers to two elementary questions: 1) whether there is any feeling of identity with regional environment and what is the kind of this environment, and 2) how the identity with local environment is perceived.
The investigation has shown that the consciousness of belonging to the traditional "ethnographical regions", understood as culturally specific areas, is still living and relatively clearly outlined, especially in the southern parts of Bohemia and Moravia.
