Abstract
The author of the chapter trying to find answers to two fundamental questions relating to developments in Central and Eastern Europe at the end of the last two decades and the answers are of course very important for understanding the future development of ideas about the welfare state as such. These questions are: Is it possible the experience of the last twenty years of social reform in Central and Eastern Europe, to consider a new model of the welfare state? We perceive the influence of post-communist countries in the direction of the European social model, assuming that it is recognized that one actually exists?
