Art historians from several Europian countries have come to know the nema of one of the smaller cities, Kromeriz, as a former summer city of the Olomouc bishops and archbishops. This picturesque and pleasant city owes its fame and visitrs of renowned researchers from around the world and the general public to its rich art collections, which have been grown over sevveral centuries due to the diligence of the bishops and archbishops of Olomouc.
The collection is one of the most famous treasures of the property of the Archbishopric collection, in addition to the extensive and precious historical library, coin collections, medallions, drawings, graphics and musical archives. The Portrait Gallery in Kroměříž currently includes one of the Tizian most famous paintings Apollo and Marsia, as well as works by Anthonys van Dyck, Paolo veronese, Lucas Cranach, Annibale Carracci, and other European artists.
