Educational potential of social networks in the context of innovative approaches in the educational process

Abstract

The article focuses on the current status of social networks in education process, respectively, the possibilities and potential benefits of their use in teaching. It represents the social network as a quite new phenomenon.

The importance of social networks in the field of internet is still growing, especially the user services and applications, which a web environment offers. Part of this article also focuses on learning project built on the principles of constructive and collaborative learning, using an interactive web application as an learning environment for creation of multimedia maps.

This application is characterized by features of social networks and was developed to support education with ICT, mostly with multimedia, even in non-informatic subjects.
