Abstract

The chapter analyses the role of the Czech Republic in the process of the constitutionalization of the EU, with particular attention to the negotiation and ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. It focuses on the cleavages among the main political actors in the Czech Republic vis-a-vis the EU (government, parliament, president, political parties), and also on the role of the Czech Constitutional Court.
