Abstract
The article deals with the research of the lifetime convicts, particularly their problems within the service of a sentence and their state of contacts with the outside world. This research was done through questionaires in three separate parts of the research in the years of 1998, 2004 and 2009.
On the basis of empirically found data the author tries to analyze the state of the service of life imprisonment and proposes some options " de lege ferenda" that could improve the situation of the convicts in the service of a sentence.
