Free radical-scavenging, antioxidant and immunostimulating effects of a licorice infusion (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.)

Abstrakt

Liquiritin (1) and glycyrrhizin (2) determined in licorice infusion (LI) showed negligible effects on scavenged superoxide radicals. They showed pro-oxidant effects in MPO-chlorinating system.

The LI, 1 and 2 showed no effects on the lymphocyte cells.
