Preparation of the pyridinium salts differing in the length of N-alkyl substituent

Abstrakt

Quarternary pyridinium salts with chains ranging from C8 to C20 belong to group of cationic surfactants. Preparation of such agents is described.

HPLC technique was established to distinguish each prepared pyridinium analogue. Universal method for preparation and identification of quarternary pyridinium detergents is presented.
