Novel acetylcholinesterase reactivator - oxime K048 - reactivation activity in vitro

Abstract

Bispyridinium aldoxime K048 proved to be a promising antidote against tabun poisoning. In the present study, the oxime was tested against nine different AChE inhibitors using in vitro tests on rat brain homogenate as the source of the enzyme.

The results showed that K048 reached promising reactivation activity in case of all AChE inhibitors except cyclosarin, at oxime concentration 10E-3 M. At the concentration of 10E-5 M, which is more common for human use, only methylchlorpyrifos-inhibited AChE was reactivated.
