Abstract
In our chapter we aim to convey a comprehensive review of malnutrition bioindicators (serum proteins, lipids, basic immunological parameters etc.) and indicators or inflammatory reaction (sedimentation, C-reactive protein, urine neopterin etc.). Furthermore we will analyze the influence of advancing age and finally compare the behavior of nutritional markers in the presence of inflammation.
Concurrently we will be analyzing recently used nutritional indices and expressing novel possibilities of their interpretation.
