Characterisation of the R3/1 cell line as an alveolar epithelial cell model for drug disposition studies

Abstrakt

The rat cell line R3/1 was found not to form electrically tight monolayers, which excludes R3/1 cells from being used as an in vitro model for alveolar absorption, however, the cell line suitable to study stability of inhaled and endogenous proteins.
