Evaluation of natural substances from Evolvulus alsinoides L. with the purpose of determining their antioxidant potency

Abstract

Evolvulus alsinoides (Convolvulaceae) is a plant used in traditional medicine of East Asia in many indications and has known nootropic and anti-inflammatory activities; however, the bioactive constituents have been described poorly; four substances were isolated from the ethanol extract of EA and their molecular structures were determined using NMR analyses, antioxidant activity of them was measured by DPPH assay using the SIA method
