Treatment of hydrocephalus in newborns by ventricular catheter and head reservoir insertion

Abstract

Newborns, in which was diagnosed a congenital or posthemorhagic hydrocephalus, were indicated to the insertion of ventricular drainage and head subgalear reservoir. In either case, there were no infectious complications in connection with the introduction of the port or with the cerebrospinal fluid sampling.
