Abstract

Low HDL-ch has been recognized as a risk factor for coronary heart disease for over 80 years. Every increase in HDL-ch by 1% reduce cardiovascular risk by 2-3%.

Nicotinic acid is still now the most effective drug for the HDL-ch increase.
