OHS in framework educational programmes: connection of subject matter with real life

Abstract

Wagner (2008) defines 7 survival skills important for life in the 21st century. Presented paper points out a lack of emphasis on awareness of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) topic.

However, these particular topics might be crucial within general education fields of education and might provide pupils with opportunity to develop their own responsible attitude towards their health and safety and in a broader sense towards environment. In the paper, there are results of a content analysis of OHS in Framework educational programmes for both elementary and secondary education with an emphasis on vocational schools as more than 75 % of secondary school students attend this kind of schools.
