Abstract
The article concerns one type of the lifestylemigration in La Alpujarra region, Southern Spain. Although the migrants are relatively affluent, i.e. they can buy properties, only a small proportion of them can live carefree, regarding financial matters.
The article sketches out some of the strategies they use to go on living in this rural setting of scarce working opportunities.
