Myxoma in the Left Atrium?

Abstract

A rare case of myxoma-like tumor of the left atrium, which caused pseudostenosis of the mitral valve. Chest computed tomography revealed the tumor originating from the left lower lobar bronchus and descend to the left atrium through the left inferior pulmonary vein.

The tumor was extirpated from the left atrium from midsternotomy and left inferior lobectomy was done from left thoracotomy. Histological finding from both pulmonary tissue andf the the intracardiac tumor was identical and rise a suspecion of metastatic lession.

The primary tumor was found in the left kidney. The patient underwent left nefrectomy in the second period.

Histological finding from the resected renal tissue was typical for Grawitz tumor.
