Vyšehořovice and water. Unconstructed mill, unknown pond and general water situation in the village throughout its history

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to elaborate on the following: water management issues in the Vyšehořovice cadastral area, especially the unimplemented plan from 1769 to construct a flour mill powered by two waterwheels; the discovery of an "unknown" pond that had eutriphied by 1689 at the latest; pond that still existed in the 18th and 19th centuries; an old spring area in the urban centre of today's village; regulatory and ameliorative works at the Výmola Stream, which have been recorded since the second half of th 19th century; and the efforts to build a new pond or an outdoor swimming pool in the second half of the 20th centrury.
