Concept maps as an assessment tool

Abstract

Visual way of structuring thought processes into conceptual maps help coordinate, systematize and learn the thought processes and to some extent can simplify decision-making and consolidation of knowledge and skills. Rating conceptual map contains elements of both qualitative and quantitative evaluation also depending on the degree of control.

Rating conceptual maps (structural, relational, combined) is directly dependent on the components of maps and their associated importance in the evaluation. The poster is assigned its own design of structural and relational methods for assessing conceptual map - is divided by the number of people that handle conceptual map.

For verification evaluation conceptual map was selected seventh grade of primary school in computer science, education for citizenship and geography, the whole class was previously clarified conceptual mapping method in a sequence of steps.
