Oxidative Stress, Redox Signaling, and Metal Chelation in Anthracycline Cardiotoxicity and Pharmacological Cardioprotection

Abstrakt

In this article we have performed a critical review of available literature on the mechanisms of development of anthracycline cardiotoxicity with special focus on oxidative stress and redox signaling. Furthermore pharmacological approaches to cardioprotection have been reviewed with major interest in antioxidant strategies and metal chelation.
