Abstract
The international conference "Professional development of teachers" was held 23.-24. April 2012 at the Faculty of Education of Charles university in Prague, organised by the Institute for professional development and the Prague branch of he Czech pedagogical association.
The theme of the conference raised great interest, almost one hundred participants including those from Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia and Poland. Expert guarantors, holding also lectures, were outstanding specialists in the area of pedagogical sciences.
The themes focused on new trends in In-service training of teachers, on In-service training of teachers in vocational schools, on development of competences in pedagogical-psychological area and on development of didactic knowledge of the contents. The proceedings were published.
