Residential stability of Prague's suburbanites: a case study of Říčany u Prahy

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2012

Abstract

The chapter examines the issue of the return of suburbanites back to the city (reurbanizace process). In the case study of Říčany, the text deals with the residential stability of new residents in the Prague's hinterland and describes the variety of motivations for the moving to suburbia and the factors influencing potential migration from the current place of residence.

Confirmation of reurbanization tendencies remains ambiguous; suburban zone may represent both a fluctuation zone and the stable part of the metropolitan region.
