Metaphors of Japan's normality

Abstract

The article criticises the shortcomings of positivist explanations of the relation between identity and foreign policy on the example of Japan's post-war politics. It provides the metaphor of "normality", propagated by Ichiro Ozawa, as an example of the change of Japan's self-reflection.
