The contribution presents initial results of the survey, which identifies ideas and opinions of teachers of primary, lower and upper secondary schools and universities to the desired performance of students of different ages (at the end of the 5th and 9th class of elementary school and at upper secondary graduation year) in geography education. Survey respondents commented on the proposal of geographic skills standard, which reflects an objective process of cognition.
The importance of individual items was assessed using a standard four-rating scale. We assumed that responses of four "professional groups" mentioned are influenced by factors that have different weights by groups.
In particular, their education, teaching experience, personal attributes as well as social representation of geography, i.e. the opinion of his mission in general education. We wanted to verify whether there is significant variability in the measured opinions within professional groups and between them and which items are acceptable for most respondents, and which relatively less ones.
