Pilot testing of foreign language blended learning courses at Prague Police College

Abstract

The paper deals with the implementation of the LMS Moodle based e-learning portal that has been developed at Prague Police College of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic for the needs of vocational foreign language learning. In the first part of the paper the author summarizes the bases of development of the portal and provides the description of individual stages of its implementation.

The subsequent part of the paper is mainly focused on further use of the e-learning environment as the pivotal part of currently piloted blended learning study programs. The author points out the current structure of the portal with different types of study materials, as well as useful functions and tools that the portal offers to both students and tutors of the new courses.

In conclusion the author gives information about current results of the pilot testing, including students' feedback and future prospects.
