Access to the health care is one of the basic human rights and due to growing international mobility it has also become an important issue of migration policy, especially in terms of integration of migrants into the host country. In our paper, we analyze the legal framework of family reunification in the context of integration for third-country nationals in the Czech Republic.

Some indicators of integration of families are developing in quite a favourable way (e.g. education). However, there are some significant barriers in the way of their integration, for example, regarding the access to health care.

In particular, the existing system of commercial health insurance for some groups of non-EU citizens has been criticized for some time as an example of the inadequate approach in integration policy from the point of view of human rights and national security. We present the results of qualitative research mapping the situation of children of third-countries nationals regarding the health care system in the Czech Republic.

The project was run on a theoretical, empirical and practical level.
