Abstract
This article deals with the formation and proliferation of misconceptions among students, concerning the greenhouse effect. Unfortunately, these misunderstandings arise, at least partially, as a result of inaccurate illustrative images from textbooks and other sources.
The article presents an example of the principle of the greenhouse effect in our atmosphere. Based on analysis of answers to questions in the Geographical Olympiad, the authors point out certain problems with existing illustrations on this topic.
