Abstrakt
The round-table is focused on an exploration of the problems ethnomusicology encounters in a wide range of complex societies many of which, particularly those in cities, were labeled "urban," in binary opposition to the more customary rural, tribal, folk or "simple" subjects of earlier ethnomusicological work. Implicated in this exploration are the approaches, theories, methods, and techniques that necessarily accompany a redefinition and relocation of the subject of study.
