Abstract

This book gives an erudite and readable introduction into the work of the American economist Gary S. Becker who, in his economical analysis, frequently uses the results of research in other social sciences.

Becker maintains that the behaviour of different individuals in many differing areas of their activities is ruled by identical basic principles. Many other scopes of interpretation thus open before economical theory, e.g. school education, family, habits and traditions or people?s preferences.
