Abstract

Statins are used for lowering of the level of cholesterol in blood. They inhibit 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase, which is a key enzyme in endogene cholesterol synthesis.

Therefore, they are signifcant for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The method for simultaneous determination of atorvastatin, rosuvastatin and their metabolites using UHPLC-MS/MS was developed.

Microextraction approach MEPS was optimized for sample preparation.
