Abstract
A collective work of historians from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria sums up the history of the modern Czech parliamentarianism, where the scientific basis is joined together with the popular approach. The introductory study draws a picture of development of parliamentarianism in Czech lands over last 150 years, from the beginning of the constitutional era in 1861 till our times.
The biographical sketches that follow present all Czech and Czechoslovak lawmaking bodies presidents and selected Czech, Czech-German and Slovakian politicians having left a remarkable trace in the parliamentary history of Austrian and Austrian-Hungarian monarchy, Czechoslovak and Czech Republic.
