Kopistská výsypka dump as an example of a new created ecological network: case study from the Mostecká pánev basin

Abstract

Kopiostská výsypka dump serves as a unique example of relatively successful afforestation of the landscape devastated by intensive surface mining. A functioning forest ecosystem developed on the dump was incorporated as an important biocentre of regional importance into ecological network.

However the problem consissts in its isolation.
