Abstract

Paper presents a method of ecohydrological survey of the river habitat quality called QuaWaDis, which is based on processing of a free accessible distance data (aerial images, thematic maps and GIS layers). Main aim of the distance mapping is the classification of natural or near natural reaches, strongly modified reaches and reaches suitable for detailed field survey.

Method calibration, data applicability and accuracy assessment of QuaWaDis method was verified by comparative analysis of results with the EcoRivHab field survey method in the study area of the Rolava River catchment.
