Abstract
The purpose of the proposed article is to analyze the reproductive behaviour of population in the two largest Slovak towns Bratislava and Kosice during the last two decades. Our attention was focused on the development and changes in timing and intensity of nuptiality, divorce, abortion, fertility rates and also on the shift in mortality rate and in the structure of terminated pregnancies.
Finally, the impact of these processes wa reflected into the development of age structure and population growths.
