The emergence of the active past participle in Czech and Slovak in the 19th century

Abstract

The active past participle of Czech emerged at the begin of the 19th century by imitation of the respective Russian form. Into Slovak the form got from Czech, namely from the Czech of Slovak protestant authors, who brought it into the codification of Ľudovít Štúr.
