Two early Czech translations from N. M. Karamzin's "Istorija Gosudarstva Rossijskago"

Abstract

V. Hanka translated in the 1820ies some parts of Karamzin's "Istorija Gosudarstva Rossijskago".

Some of these texts were translated also bei J. Tomčík.

The two translations show exemplarily, what looked Czech translation from Russian in the early 19th century like: the might be were close to the original, but also stylistically more adequate. Special attention is paid to participial constructions.
