The aim of our study was to evaluate basic fitness among Czech Athletics Federation Sport Centers (CAS SCs) members (aged 12-15) in 2011. Furthermore, we assessed the workability of data supplied by SC head coaches.
Results of basic fitness tests from 36 SCs were processed separately for boys and girls. In both datasets children were divided into age groups (12,13,14 and 15 year old).
The results of four tests (50m standing start run, standing long jump, 2kg medicine ball throw and 12 minute run) averaged for age groups are presented along with respective standard deviations. Consequently we determined the number of SCs members with above average results compared to results of school population presented by Zapletalova (2011).
The average fitness of SCs members in 2011 increased gradually over age groups. We recommend to record also data on physical development in the future basic fitness testing.
