The English-speaking Community in Communist Czechoslovakia in the 1950s

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2011

Abstract

The paper focuses on the English-speaking political emigrants, or more precisely defectors, who crossed the Iron Curtain in the opposite direction to what was generally the case for those seeking a better life. It concentrates on questions dealing with political asylum, anti-Western propaganda and everyday life in communist Czechoslovakia in the 1950s.
