Abstract

Phenology (phaenologie) is a branch of bioclimatology, e.g. the science dealing with the relationship of the life of plants and animals to the climate. The phenological observations have a long tradition in the Czech lands.

At present the CHMI phenological network is divided into three types of stations: field crops, fruit trees and forest plants. There were processed periods of beginning of vegetative and generative phenophases (bud burst, first leaves, beginning of flowering, end of flowering, fruit ripeness and leaves fall) of apple (Malus domestica Borkh.).

Temporal variability of phenophase onsets were processed together with the sum of air temperatures, precipitation total and frequency of synoptic situations in relation to phenophase onsets (end of flowering-fruit ripeness). Data were evaluated within the period 1991-2010.
