Abstract

Neuropathic pain is defined as a pain arising as a direct consequence of a lesion or disease affecting the somatosensory system. The neuropathic pain grading system of definite, probable, and possible neuropathic pain is intended to be used to decide on the level of certainly with which the presence or absence of neuropathic pain can be determined in an individual patient.
