The paper will focus on the analysis of the fact how the new medium - film was able to respond to the visits and the representation of the Emperor Francis Joseph I., the successor to the throne Francis Ferdinand d'Este and "the second successor to the throne" Archduke Carl Francis Joseph. An important question is how the filmmakers and just emerging permanent cinema was able to use the "imperial myth" in their favor.
The paper is in term of its nature an analysis of the documentary and illustrative material (daily press) in the Czech ambience.
