The refuge of the phenomenological

Publication |
2010

Abstract

Seven member of the former 'Philosophical Society', established in Göttingen before World War I in rejection to Husserl and focussing on Reinach, after the war built a new group who positioned itself in opposition to Heidegger too. By establishing the 'Home of Phenomenologists', the 'Circle of Bergzabern' attempted to halt the increasing fragmentisation of the phenomenological movement, while at the same time they came to see themselves as preserving 'proper' phenomenology.
