Pediatric dentistry. Test 4: Submerge of deciduous molars

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové |
2012

Abstract

Advanced submerge (infraoclusion) of deciduous molars can cause a number of complications. The main impacts of this anomaly are inclinations of neighbouring teeth, loss of space for eruption of permanent teeth, supraocclusion of antagonists and abnormal position of permanent tooth germ.

Early diagnosis of submerged deciduous molars is necessary and extraction should be indicated prior the occurrence of complications.
