Abstract

Dental caries and its complications may cause periapical inflammation. In young permanent teeth endodontic treatment or extraction are considered.

While in frontal teeth endodontic treatment is mostly recommended, in distal teeth this treatment frequently failed. Extraction of destroyed permanent molars with periapical inflammation is highly recommended in children.
