Abstract
This is a review of the monograph, which is the result of several years of archaeological and multidisciplinary research in the region of Alto Magdalena (Colombia). This research was begun in 1997 and completed in 2005.
The aim of the research was to analyze an agricultural production in the southern region of Alto Magdalena, from the beginning of its settlement (before 1000 BC.) to the period prior to the Spanish conquest, and the impact of this production on the economic and demographic development of the population, socio-political organization and colonization of the land.
