Martín de Rodrigo presents to the reader the labyrinth of issues associated with the life of St. Eulalie from Mérida, which is up to these days shrouded in mystery, and presents also the sources of the life and martyrdom of the saint.

The author analyzes the report written sources and artistic monuments and puts this issue into the general framework of the history of the early church in Spain.
