Abstract
Physiological and pathophysiological aspects of visceral pain are described. Then are explained peripheral and central mechanims of visceral hyperalgesia and development of chronic pain conditions.
Clinical characteristic of visceral pain and its typical projections are described. The treatment of chronic visceral pain is multidisciplinary.
Invasive therapy ( diagnostic and therapeutic blockade) we use in failure of conservative treatment. In unbearable cancer pain is idicated neurosurgicat therapy - punctate midline myelotomy.
