Abstract
This short paper is intended to remind and celebrate 60th birthday of MUDr. Ivan Tůma, CSc.
It provides a review of his professional activity at the Department of Psychiatry in Hradec Králové, and also of his extensive research interests. He is an outstanding Czech psychiatrist who wrote papers relating to psychopharmacology, immunopsychiatry and even neuroimaging.
He accumulated his expertise at prominent international research sites and he brought home skills and knowledge, which enriched the local professional life. His character and dedication and his activities as a teacher and researcher make him an outstanding personality of Czech psychiatry.
