Life-threatening bleeding

Abstract

Critically ill patients suffer often by the life-threatening haemorrhage requiring multidisciplinary therapeutic approach. Besides identification of a bleeding source and surgical and non-surgical therapeutical possibilities it is necesary to treat a haemorhagic shock by volume resuscitation, substitution of erytrocytes and coagulation factors.

It is also necessary to provide optimal conditions for the process of haemocoagulation. The chapter shortly reviews therapeutical strategy of the life-threatening haemorrhage management.

This paper deals with therapeutic principles. Concrete therapeutic steps are presented on the case report including monitorig of therapeutic effects.
